At first I was extremely angry at the tone and intolerance of my fellow Prince George’s County Residents. Then the moderation of God and love settled upon my heart. It is with deep sadness and concern, that I write this post tonight.
Whatever happened to respect for others and their opinions regardless of race or creed? When did putting up a campaign sign become a signal for anger and bitterness? What have we become as a people that a sign promoting someone other than who we support causes such anger?
I am not a Obama supporter because he beleives in the nanny state (the government will take care of you from the cradle to the grave) this in itself is unbiblical. Our help comes from God and not government. It is written that it is in Him that we live and move and have our being.

Barack Obama view of the world bothers me. He has made so many promises like 95% of American’s will get a tax cut. This doesn’t even make sense, when only 40% actually pay taxes. Why would he promise a tax cut to people who don’t pay taxes. I call this “Welfare” using the IRS.

Barack Obama is a strong supporter of abortion and doesn’t know when life begans. Come on people, most of you know that life begins at conception.
Barack Obama wants to raise taxes on the “Rich”, and he defines rich as anyone making $250,000 a year or more. That sure does include a lot of PG County Residents as it is one of the richest black counties in the country. A lot of you own small business that bring in that much. Can you afford a tax increase or will this cause you to cut back on investment, and maybe a new employee you are planning to hire?
If you are voting for Barack Obama because he is African-American than you are going against what Martin Luther King. who said we want to be judged by the content of our charcter and not the color of our skin. I call this reverse racism. Yes I used the word that the liberals love to throw out as soon as anything negative is said about Barack Obama.
When is calling Obama out about his associations with terrorist, socialist, and communist racist?
Most of his guilt by associations are White!!

I recently ran across a organization called the Matthew 25 Network . Matthew 25 proclaims to be a organization when activates their faith by taking care of the poor, feeding the hungary etc. and because Barak Obama quoted this as his favorite scripture; they have endorsed him for President.

Who are they trying to kid. They claim to be pro-life, when Obama is definitely pro-abortion. Obama platform smacks of Socialism/Communism which goes against everything Christ died for. Wasn’t Jesus who said “I came that you might have LIFE and LIFE more abudantly.” I am a true supporter of charity and giving to those in need and I do. But Christ was and is so much more than this. I am so frustrated in trying to understand how pro-life Christians can support Barak Obama. Some have told me they will support him and pray that God changes his heart. I believe they so want a Black President in order to fell validated they are willing to lay aside their moral values. ”Change of heart requires a willing participant since God will not go against anyone’s free will.” Value Voters Summit Video I have set before you this day, Life and Death, Blessing and Cursing; So choose Life (Deut. 30:19). It is not just the abortion thing that sets my heart against voting for Obama. There are many issues which I list below:

Pro-Abortion

Higher Taxes

More Government Control

Pro-Homosexual Rights

Doesn’t even know when life begins

Believe people in small towns cling to their religion and guns

Believes that anyone making $250,000 need an increase in their taxes

Robbing from the Rich and giving to the poor (coveteousness and envy)

Hate Crimes Bill

ENDA

Need I go on? Why isn’t the Matthew 25 Network supporting Sarah Palin, who has lived her values.

Ok, it’s mid-September and the campaign has been going on almost 2 years.

There’s this word - Gravitas (Substance; weightiness), which was used oh so much by the media in their description of President George Bush when he first ran for president back in 2000.

GRAVITAS

Listed below are some of the comments regarding George Bush and Gravitas:

The political spin is that Mr. Bush lacks “gravitas” - weight

A nanosecond after George W. Bush named Richard B. Cheney as his choice for vice president, a regiment of Democrats, elected or connected, were in the studios of their broadcasting pals to opine. Mr. Cheney was picked to give the ticket gravitas, which Mr. Bush, alas, lacks, they argued.

George W. Bush didn’t have it until he picked Dick Cheney for vice president. Now he’s got it. Cheney has plenty of it. So does Joseph Lieberman.

“It” is gravitas. That seems to be the hottest word to hit the political circuit this year. Everyone’s talking about gravitas.

ELECTION 2008

Fast-forward to 2008 and the comments go like this: “McCain has gravitas, Joe Biden brings gravitas”. Does this mean that everyone recognizes that Obama has none? Where is the media talking about Obama and his substance and weightiness(gravitas).

WHAT IS A COMMUNITY ORGANIZER?

I submit to you, that the media has deliberately ignored the facts on Barack Obama and his experience, his substance, and his weightiness A.K.A. GRAVITIAS

Why was it oh so important for George Bush, and a non-issue for Barack Obama? I would really like a answer to this nagging question. I keep waiting for the main-stream media to start describing why they beleive Barack Obama has what it takes to be POTUS. What does he really bring to the table, besides a different look and Change.

From where I sit, change for change sake is risky and lacks substance and weightiness(gravitas).

How about you? Give me your comments !

Links to others who talk about gravitas: You really have to search hard for the word, go figure!

I was also amused that one of the first comments made was “The speech was written for her”. I heard this comment on 3 stations. Did they all receive a text message from the DNC or what? Why didn’t we hear this about Michele, Obama, Joe, Hillary. The accolades where neasuating for the speeches delivered. Not once did I hear on the DEM side. “He or She didn’t write their own speech. We have heard such quotes as “Only uneducated, working-class women will vote for Palin.” If I remember correctly didn’t Hilary say “it’s the hard-working, blue collar, white people” who were supporting her. I guess it was okay then, but a put-down now! How hyporicital can they get. For the last forty years we have been hearing, Power to the women; We can do it all; children, career, husbands. We can rise to the top of our chosen career paths, and demand respect. Wasn’t it not long ago we heard something about 18 million glass ceilings breaking? Ok, so now we have Sarah Palin, who started out on the PTA to City Council to Mayor to the Governor’s office. Why is she being villified as a bad mother with no experience to be VP? Could it be because she is also a pro-life, pro-gun, pro-gas drilling conservative? I guess if you are not in-line idealogically, than Women’s Rights don’t count for you. If you are a conservative woman than you should just stay at home, raise you kids, and shut up! Don’t even think about voting because you are too ignorant. What an elitist bunch of hooey!! How stupid do they think we are? Their Liberal Bias was revealed almost as much as when we were told ,Bill Clinton’s liason with Monica was a personal matter and we should moveon.org.

On Saturaday August 16th, Barak Obama and John McCain will visit Saddleback Church for a Civil Forum Debate with Rick Warren.

I can’t help but wonder what is going on. As a Black Conservative this is incredible to me. A few years back all we heard about was separation of church and state. Churches need to stay out the political arena, and just focus on poverty or other social injustices.

Now it seems as if churchs are so deeply involved in the political system they are becoming third rail if you will. although I applaud Rick Warren for his efforts, I am still a little concerned about his motives.

Let’s be clear, I am not against churches being involved in the process. The black church has always been involved in the political process as this was the only place africian-americans were allowed to congregate without suspicion. There they could discuss current events and organize community activities, and even find out who they should vote for.

I am looking forward to this debate, as it has been reported that pastors around the country have been asked to submit questions. I am hoping for more substance and really tough questions directed to both candidates. Rick Warren is a well known pastor and author and his bringing his creds to this debate, so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out and the ratings it will received since most of the major media outlets will be broadcasting this event.

What is even more interesting is that on the same day Ausust 16th; there is another event that has the propensity to impact Evangical Christians around the world.THE CALL DC

Being a Black Conservative woman in today’s world is a tough sell.

Sure, Black Conservatives and Black Republicans have been in this country since the Civil War.

Why then is being a Black Conservative a dirty word in the African American world?

What has happened to the black community that we condemn, blast and hate anyone who claims the label of Black Conservative.

THE BELOW PARAGRAPH IS COPIED FROM WIKKI

From Reconstruction up until the New Deal the black population tended to vote Republican as the Republican Party, particularly in the Southern United States, was seen as more racially liberal than the Democratic Party, primarily because of the role of the southern wing of the Democratic Party as the party of segregation and the Republican Party’s roots in the abolitionist movement (See Dixiecrats for more on this). Blacks started to shift in significant numbers to the Democrats with the election of Franklin Roosevelt[6], whose New Deal particularly benefited economically disadvantaged minority communities and helped forge the New Deal coalition which dominated American politics for the next 30 years, and continued with the election of John F. Kennedy, an Irish-Catholic Democrat who pioneered racial equality legislation while in office, resulting in a flight of conservative Democrats in the South to the Republican Party

These statements seem to suggest that black conservatives where excluded from the Republican party with the advent of FDR and John Kennedy.

This article was not wrritten by me. However I did receive persmission to post.

This is such a well thought out and researched commentary, from a young man who is really on the front lines of an urban school system.

The Black Conservative Teacher

Yes, we do exist.

Not since the early 1900s has your typical black American really seen the benefits of voting for the Republican Party. And why should they? By and large, most people aligned with the GOP these days are indeed white. Quite often they are “rich,” and more often than not, they frown upon certain policies which most black Americans still wholeheartedly support (affirmative action, among many). So why, you might ask yourself, in a political era where over 90% of the black population of America intends on voting for the black candidate, would someone so distinguish himself by siding with a party that most believe does not represent him? And not only by siding against his race and with the so-called “party of the rich,” but standing tall and proud of it, even in the liberally dense field of education. Here’s why.

It is well known (or should be at least) that the Republican Party had relatively humble beginnings in the 1850s. One well known early Republican, Abraham Lincoln, is looked upon in our day as a founder and figure head for the party. Abraham Lincoln, who many blacks and whites alike hail as the great ender of slavery, was indeed an early Republican. There’s much to be said about that. Imagine if they taught this in US History classes today in our schools! Imagine if our poorer, lower-class, mostly black districts taught our children that President Lincoln did indeed have an (R) beside his name. No, we can’t do that—it would be far too insensitive to black culture. After all, Republicans don’t care about black people. (Though do let it be known that Lincoln was also a supporter of shipping all blacks back to Africa. Given the times, that’s not surprising, though certainly not an excuse).

This same party that is so constantly vilified today was also at the forefront of the women’s suffrage movement. The 19th Amendment, hailed by such bastions of integrity like the National Organization of Women as the major victory and turning point for women’s rights in this country, was indeed backed and passed by a Republican majority in 1920. But that, just as with the freeing of the slaves, is also inconsequential. For as popular culture, liberal media and the blinded masses will endlessly tell us, Republicans hate all minorities. Black women, then, are just about as low as they come on the Republican Party laundry list of importance. (Sorry, Condi, no rights for you. Yours Truly, The GOP).

And of course we can’t forget that hard-fought, hard won Civil Rights Act of 1960. Let us just pretend, of course, that only Democrats wanted it passed (except for the multitude of southern Democrats who tried to filibuster and fear-monger to prevent it). Let’s just pretend that Republican President Eisenhower, in his wisdom, decided to sign this legislation into law. And let us, of course, ignore the fact that future president and so-called “Great Society” architect Lyndon Johnson, then majority leader in the Senate, sat idly by during said Democratic filibustering, creating the longest filibuster in American history. But none of that really matters, because, as we are told repeatedly on a daily basis, Democrats love black America. And George Bush, along with his minority-rights-raping “Republikkkans,” hates black people.

So why, with all of this mother lode of evidence, would a young black male of 24, in 21st century America, even have the gall to side with a party that hates black people? It’s as simple as the difference between truths and lies. Ever since the establishment of the Republican Party, the true Republicans have stood for the very essence of that which this country was founded upon: personal responsibility; liberty; freedom; equality; justice; love of country. Ever since the founding of the Republican party, true Republicans have stood for strong economic policy, limited national government, and the expansion of individual rights of the average American citizen. Ever since the founding of the Republican party, true Americans—err, I mean, Republicans—have stood up for, defended, vouched for, fought for, and died for the basic fundamental rights provided for in that sacred document which carries a blessing by God Almighty, the American Constitution.

Why do I side with the Republican Party instead of robotically falling into line with the rest of my race? It’s simple. My country, and the preservation of the constitution which holds me up in the freest country in the history of mankind, comes first for me. I refuse to vote based on race. I refuse to vote for a party that pulls the wool over the eyes of the masses, and confuses and deceives minorities into thinking that they cannot succeed without the government. I refuse to allow my racial status to dictate truth for me when the only truth I see is that racism is alive and well, not from the white population, but from those who will shout “GObama!” for the sole reason of getting a chance to “vote for the first Black president.”

I often stand alone in my field. Education, on every level, is a liberal proving ground. In our schools, the teachers proudly wear Obama pins, politicizing in the classroom when what our children really need is truth dissected from bias. In our colleges and universities, professors use their classrooms as podiums for liberal, partisan deceit, which then seeps into the impressionable minds of college freshman, who come into this “open-minded environment” an empty slate, and leave as another Democratic poll number.

And I know, though in my school I may be alone, I am not alone completely. We, the black conservative educators of America, are indeed out there. We are few, but I assure you, our numbers are growing. Our greatest wish is the prosperity of our country, first, and for truth to make its way into the black community and defeat the generational ignorance being perpetuated therein. One day we will be justified. For now, all we have, and all we can rely on, and all we truly need anyway, is our faith.

Where oh where are the congressional hearings? With the bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac; I am now waiting for the hearings to begin. The congressional Democrats are once again blaming this on George Bush and John McCain, as if the Hill has no accountability at all in this huge failure by a quasi-government entity. Doesn’t Congress have oversight over these two giants? Fannie Mae was setup during the Johnson years to help make home ownership affordable. As a private company they could sell stock and other securities; in this case mortgage-backed securities. Well we know how that turned out. Back to the hearings: According to Fannie Mae’s own records the top three elected officials they showered contributions on where: Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Barney Frank. We also know that Franklin Raines(former Fannie Mae exec) is an advisor to the Obama campaign on the mortgage industry. In case you are unaware, Franklin Raines was forced out because of irregularities in Fannie Mae’s accounting procedures. It has been reported the top echelons mis-stated earnings so they could reap huge bonuses based on stock prices. Why isn’t Franklin Raines and his co-horts being brought up on criminal charges like the execs at Enron, MCI, etc?

So let’s take a look at the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight. I copied this statement from their own website: OFHEO’s mission is to promote housing and a strong national housing finance system by ensuring the safety and soundness of Fannie Mae (Federal National Mortgage Association) and Freddie Mac (Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation).

Oversight my eye. What have they been doing the last 10 years? Where is the oversight?

Where are the reforms? Oh, that’s right they get their financing from guess who? Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

As of this writing, Our federal government is announcing a huge bailout, costing billions of taxpayer dollars. I don’t know how this will end. Will this be a government takover of an entire market industry?
